I made it! My official time was 2:29:53. Although my iPod said 2:19:33. I had to stop and use a port-a-john a couple times. After the race I was really disoriented and managed to find some Gatorade and then my dad found the beer! It was definately the hardest and longest race ive ever run. And I will hopefully be running it again!

(note: I only had about two sips of that beer! Only in Iowa do people pray before a race, and then proceed to drink beer afterwards)

A few months ago I signed up for the Dam to Dam 20k race. In the process of training I’ve been dealing with blisters in strange places, peeing in strange places (the nearest bush I could find), and learning to push myself mentally and physically.

I’m so freaking excited for this race, but I’m also scared out of my mind!!! Its this crazy 2+ hour adventure that I will be running with thousands of people.

So wish me luck, and if you live near Des Moines come and watch me finish! I’m aiming for a finish time of 2:15-2:30!
