<silly rant>

Why you ask? Because its an amazing piece-o-technology and….I can do pointless things with it like this:

SMule: Ocarina [Zeldarian] from SonicMule, Inc. on Vimeo.

Smule is a music type program thing that makes use of the audio input of the iphone to translate blowing into flute/woodwind type noises. My co-worker Mat was playing around with this program the other day and I have to say that I’m jealous! I should also note that I work with a bunch of Apple Fanboys (and girls) so it makes it even more difficult. Dear Mr. Steve Jobs - PLEASE let the iPhone come to Verizion….ill be your BFF for life

While surfing the web last night I came upon the thesis project of Amy Wang. Very interesting project. Makes me want to go to gradschool!

“Ametrica!” is an awareness campaign to help convert the United States to the metric system. No one thinks about an act as routine as measuring, much less the impact it can have on education, economy, and health. Through bold numbers and subtle humor, viewers are initially invited to interact with the pieces and their environment such that they experience metric units directly, rather than through comparison with customary units (which perpetuates the problem of dependency on the old units). Those intrigued by the issue are then directed to visit the Ametrica! website for more information, interactive components, and motion graphics experiences.
