*Please pardon the un-styled mess why I am rethinking and re-designing my blog!*

The third in a series of posts on yummy packaging! (Check out part 1 and part 2 if you missed them!) This time we take a look at something we all cherished from our childhood – CEREAL!!!
Love the retro-like illustrations and clean type on this!

Love the die cut in this packaging! I’m also digging the simple slightly muted color schemes and straight forward typography!

I never thought of cereal coming in a tube

I saw this at the grocery store the other day and almost bought it. Made from 100% recycled paper and printed with vegi inks. Cant get much more ‘green’ than this. Theres just something about the color of unbleached and not-inked up paper that is nice.

Another interesting student take on Kashi packaging

I dont really remember any of these designs, probably because they were made before i was born

Not cereal persay but still breakfast! Love all the little details and geometric patterns!

Interesting rounded ‘steamline’ packaging

Now this is just scary, what kid would want to eat cereal that looks like it has a drugged up squirrel on the box??

Love love love the chocolate stars style! Gorgeous illustration!
I was excited with the retro boxes because they said ‘vintage’ in stars at the bottom, so I thought they were bringing that packaging back for a limited time or something…..but alas, no.

Looks like Crackles actually contain crack. Also, is it just me or is the chocolate stars rocket a bit, um, phallic?

Like the others, this is making me hungry. I can’t imagine what this does after a smoke (if you know what I mean). Anyway, I think it is important to note how incredibly detailed a designer needs to be to achieve some of the finished products above. People look and say, “Oh, nice shape”, but truly don’t know the work that goes on to create it.
