Pssh…Government mods never held me back!! Technically you aren’t allowed to install stuff without the Almighty Admin’s permission…but there are always ways around.

I won’t name any names but I know a guy who rocks Firefox on his Govt computer cuz he’s a total Bad Ass.

I for one love IE6, the PNG transparency handling is beautifully achieve, and the IE6 box model is far superior to that of the W3C’s ridiculous attempt.

But really I love this, been wanting to do something similar on my own sites.

Oh ol’ FF versus IE debate, (well there’s not much debate really, it’s obvious.)

But @LaurenMarie’s right, not everyone has the ability to install new software on their machines – many government companies, NHS etc to help reduce the risk of viruses etc.

So we can’t really just tell IE users to piss off, it’s not always their own fault, instead we have to, being the good web designers we are, cater for their needs. That means progressive enhancement kids!

But what about those poor souls who aren’t ALLOWED to install the wonderfulness that is FF? Like me Corporate America dictates I must stuffer with IE6.

In response to a request to install FF (free, safer, faster, I could go on!): “Our company standard is Internet Explorer 6.” Yes, thank you. That’s why I asked to have FF installed.

You have no idea how painful it is! Take pity. /cry
