Fail-Mart…er Wal-Mart…WalMart?

The estimated time to read this article is less than a minute

Yep, Wally World finally realised that the world hates them and are trying to re-brand themselves. Sorry guys, but some misguided color usage and an exploding asterisk isn’t going to help you much. Or maybe the asterisk is just a clue to look at the footnotes.

I saw this on the news last night and almost fell out of my chair. I just don’t see the point. It’s almost like the marketing department got bored and decided to change the brand. Then on top of that…designed the whole thing with their eyes closed. It’s not a good change in my opinion. Definitely not one that can be easily understood.

    Nice post!

  2. haha, i saw that yesterday. Gross!

  3. Lame. What’s the point of that? At least with their old logo it screamed “hey, cheap stuff over here!” All I see in this is a striped donut…maybe I need breakfast.

  4. If this were any other company we’d all be applauding the fact that they finally got rid of their old branding and employed a new sunny-looking logo.

I went to Wal-Mart (Walmart?) for the first time in about five years the other day because they’re the only place around that has pineapple soda. I feel bad, but it was worth it.

Anybody remember Happy by Jones Soda? Yeah, it’s that stuff.

  5. I’m not sure why they would think they need such an update to their look. It certainly won’t help bury the negative side of their brand in recent years.

On the plus side … changing all the WalMart signage around the country will pour many $$$millions back into the economy.

  6. it looks like a drug com. logo
